We are naked souls
In divided chambers
Like twin kernels
Severed by a thin wall.
My soul lies in self-amazement
Blinded to the burning sun
As the heart ticks away the time.
No hands to pause the fleeing hour
In journey circumferentially
Dreadful, snaky motion
Drinking the last drop of my hope.
Yet in the forest I lie
On the dust of patience
And watch the moon conjugate the sun
In matrimonial bliss.
My thought travels the speed of the tide
At the flash of your splendour.
This microcosm, your home, sequestered.
Coil me into a ball
And break the knot of solemn vows.
Under this taintless blanket,
Our Solomon’s temple to worship.
