PLAYING UPON MY HEART

P

The river to me is like a window where you wait behind

Your face beams from the moon swimming on its breast,
In bluish ripples of water but reflections make no answer
Thoughts grow in its own words in my walk in silence

I have dipped me like a sailor to find treasure of worth
though hope flies like flock of ducks in evening sky,
I find our shadows like ghosts shimmering on the bank
Here I had weaved dreams in your tranquil eyes.

The bells of your jewel anklets toll slowly and sadly far
rhythmically breaking the heart like a piece of glass
the past pierces like cactus spikes into my heart
I am tossed upon the waves of the river’s eternal flow.

The water splashes my feet as if you cling to me
Melting my solitude into a time unknown in flow,
Oh! I wish better I should find you not to lose again
I merge into the river in its flow searching the sea.

The river sings and flows drifted by the windy time
The elated ripples twinkle in bubbles of memory,
Millions of miles it goes taking me in search of you
Softly in its melody of our tunes fluting our days
