If I shed tears stained with my blood
Shaking like a blade of grass in sudden storm
I will born like sun from the womb of the night
Shining bright on shadows from a lamp within
I always learn in sadness of heart a joy hidden.
If I shut my door of heart to all sorrow
I will miss sun going down west bringing night
How heart-broken trees without flowers grieve!
How the poor like the hollow dark caves live!
I can’t keep spring always as I see the winter.
If I don’t find around me foul and fair
Stars will appear like fireflies for weaker sight
I learn goodness when I see my badness
Creating in me a soft singing stream from hard rocks
Flowing with love in the hearts who hate others.
If I close my eyes to see the thorn in the rose
My eyes are gone people smiling but pain within
I can’t share my love like the wayside tree
Giving shelter to weary travelers in summer
Clouds come floating to me as I am sun for a rainbow.
