Life comes in several shades of the clime
sometimes we feel lost in time
And our wish
just off our reach
We twitch and fight on
Shinning our flicker of hope
Believing in the strands of dreams
Whose embers flick with lulling sparks
We fight hard and long
Holding to worlds lost to the shreds of yesterday’s ashes.
Life brags of a tomorrow-
The glows we seek to borrow
As we blunder through the thicks
And find no traces for our race. We fight on,
Savouring the struggle each day wield
We hope on, believing the capacity of our memories
As we are envisioned in the simmering sheen of fleeting sands in the hourglass
We trudge on, each painful pull a memoir whipped into our minds,
A stamp to grace the road to freedom.
Life deals her games and plays the famed cards
Dealing with planned speed, the dice bearing a life of its own
We are thrown and drawn in life’s board game.
We make obscure moves pre-predicted and aimed
In her check and draw bill.
We pay the cards we are played to her whims.
We hold strands of her potion
And are played to accept the Will in choices we take
Yet our choices end in the destined graft.
Life carries on through the play fields
We, the players running the cast and lines.
The villain pitted against his failed bliss
The protagonist sure to snatch victory,
Each man his devices he generates
And creates the props and prompts in his own stage.
In several scripts, the victor indeed is the villain,
Life, our Umpire.
